Reds

Collaboration with Idan Sidi
Commissioned by The Edmond de Rothschild Center, 2023.

As the severe ecological crisis on Earth exacerbates, many plant species ar disappearing from the face of our planet as if they were never there, leaving behind a wounded ecosystem and a longing for rich and diverse beauty. Of approximately 2,400 plant species native to Israel, 434 are endangered. In the professional jargon, these are referred to as “red” plants; 36 of them have already gone extinct.
Reds offer a glimpse into the future, its worst-case scenario, in which more and more plants dry out, wither away, and eventually disappear.
